Upma Ingredients :
- Suji/rava/semolina ............................................................ 1 cup
- Chopped Onions ............................................................ 1/2 cup
- Green Chilies ............................................................ slit sideways( 2 to 3)
- Chopped tomatoes ............................................................ 1/4 cup
- Boiled green peas ............................................................ 1/4 cup
- Boiled peeled potato ............................................................ chopped(1/2 cup)
- Ginger chopped ............................................................ 1 inch
- Cashew Nuts ............................................................ 25 gms fried (optional)
- Salt ............................................................ To taste
Garnish :
- Coriander leaves ................................................ finely chopped(1/2 cup)
Upma Method :
- Fry the rava in frying pan without oil only for a minute. Keep aside.
- Now heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan and add onion, ginger and green chilies. Sauté for 2-3 minutes.
- Now add chopped boiled potato and tomatoes and fry well.
- Now add 1 or 2 cups of water to it. Add salt and mix well.
- Pour in the fried rava slowly and keep stirring so that no lump forms.
- keep stirring for few minutes till it becomes thick.
- Serve hot garnished with cashew nuts and coriander leaves.
