Dhaniya nariyel machchi(Coriander coconut Fish Curry ) Recipe:


Dhaniya nariyel machchi(Coriander coconut Fish Curry )Ingredients :


  • 2 Thick slices of fish(preferably rohu).
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder.
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder.
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder.
  • 1 tablespoon garlic paste.
  • 1/2 cup grated coconut.
  • 2 to 3 chopped green chilies.
  • salt to taste.
  • 1 tomato
  • 1/2 cup fresh coriander leaves chopped.
  • oil to fry.
  • 1/2 cup corn flour or besan for the batter.
  • 1/2 teaspoon amchur powder.

Ingredients for marination:

  • 1 teaspoon lime juice.
  • teaspoon turmeric powder.
  • salt to rub the fish with.

Method :

  1. Marinate the fish fillet and refrigerate for 30 mins.
  2. Mix corn flour with amchur powder and a little salt.Add some water and make a thick batter.
  3. Heat oil in a pan for deep frying.Deep the marinated fish fillets in the batter and deep fry the fish,keep aside. 
  4. Make a masala(spice) mix using the chopped coriander leaves,coriander powder,turmeric powder,red chili powder and grated coconut.
  5. Heat 2 tablespoon oil in the pan and fry the chopped green chillies and garlic paste for 1 minute.Add the masala mix that we prepared in it and stir fry the mixture till the oil separates from the spice mix.
  6. Now add 1 cup water and salt to taste and let it simmer for sometime.Now put the fried fish fillets in the curry and cook till you get your desired  consistency.
  7. Server with rice or chapati.
