Kanda poha Recipe:


Kanda Poha recipe Ingredients :




  • Chopped Onions  ................................................ 3 medium sized
  • Cumin Seeds      ................................................. 1/2 teaspoon
  • Green Chilies      ................................................. chopped(3 to 4)
  • Oil                     .................................................  3 table spoon
  • Turmeric powder ................................................. 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder    ................................................. 1/2 teaspoon
  • Potato , boiled    ................................................. 1/2 cup,chopped,peeled
  • Pressed rice(poha) ............................................. 250 grams
  • Sugar                ................................................. 1 teaspoon(optional) 
  • Salt                   .................................................to taste

Garnish :

  • Coriander leaves ................................................ finely chopped(1/2 cup)
  • Lemon juice       ................................................. 1 teaspoon
  • Fried peanuts    ................................................ 1/2 cup(optional)

Method :


  1. Wash poha under running water ,make sure that the poha is moist but not mashed.
  2. Heat oil in a non stick pan and add cumin seeds.After the seeds crackle add the ginger and finely chopped onion and chilies and stir for 1 minute.
  3. Add turmeric and cumin powder with little bit of water and stir for 1 minute,now add the boiled potato,salt and stir well for 2 to 3 minutes.
  4. Add poha ,little more salt , sugar(optional) and mix well 
  5. Serve hot garnished with coriander , lemon juice and fried peanuts .
